Janet Cerna is a 12th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is government, and she wants to be a celebrity journalist when she grows up. Outside of school, Janet like to spend time with her friends. Janet thinks that journalism is important because you get to know new stuff.

Makayla Tarango is a 10th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is science, and she wants to be a political activist when she grows up. Outside of school, Makayla likes to study and hang out with friends and family. Makayla thinks that being a reporter is valuable because it shows the curiosity and intelligence of a person.

Iliana Gomez is a 12th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is Math and she doesn’t know what she wants to be when she grows up, but she is interested in Business Administration. Outside of school, Iliana likes to spend time with her family, friends and her dog. Iliana thinks that being a reporter is important because we need people who give out creidible information like they do.
Brenda Sanchez is a 12th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is Biology. She doesn’t know what she wants to be when she’s older, but she’s interested in the Medical Field or Criminal Justice. Outside of school, Brenda likes to spend time with her friends and family. Brenda thinks that being a reporter is valuable, because they can share out credible news to their audience.

Yuvitza Rivera is a 10th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is History, and she is currently open to a career in nursing but is open to exploring other options. Outside if school Yuvitza likes to make music on her violin and guitar; she also loves to read too. Yuvitza thinks that being a reporter is important because you are the person that many depend on to get accurate, credible news. 

 

 

Raynetta Van is a 10th grader at Life Academy High school of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is math and Spanish, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Outside of school Raynetta likes to play volleyball and shop. Raynetta thinks that journalism is important because words are powerful and words can make a change in society and in people.

Zeida Lopez is a 12th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is science, and she wants to be a nurse when she grows up. Outside of school, Zeida likes to dance, hang out, and have fun. Zeida thinks that being a reporter is valuable because you can share your knowledge with others.

Natalia Espinoza is a 10th grader at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is humanities, and she wants to be a make-up artist or a nurse when she grows up. Outside of school Natalia likes to party, sleep, shop, swim, listen to music and write her feelings out. Natalia thinks that journalism is important because you can become a stronger writer and because when you write a journal it makes you feel better (or at least she does).

Felicia Martinez is a junior at Life Academy High School of Heath and Bioscience. Her favorite subject is English, and she wants to be a teacher when she grows up. Outside of school, Felicia likes reading, hanging out with her friends, and staying home. Felicia believes that journalism is valuable to our daily life because people need to know what is going on in their life, whether it’s world wide or just in your city. She also believes it is important because without not knowing what’s going on, everyone will be oblivious to things that are going on.

Eva Oliver is the Digital Journalism teacher at Life Academy High School of Health and Bioscience. In high school, her favorite subjects were English, math, and journalism. Now, she loves being a teacher, especially a writing and journalism teacher! She’s living her dream! Outside of school, Eva like to run, read, snowboard, and play lacrosse and soccer. Eva thinks that journalism is valuable because good reporting empowers communities by informing them and giving them access to the truth.

  9. Thank You ladies for combating the NUMBER ONE enemy of our communities, MIS-information. As many of you know, the “he said, she said” comments or even the “i heard it somewhere”statements are often the source of many conflicts, or the source of many excuses used by our friends and family to NOT take action. By making sure your information is accurate and presenting THIS to us, you are already serving as community activists, allowing us to act based on fact not chisme. Bil Gracias hermanas,
